Are my videos uploaded to the internet?
No. Conversion happens in your browser. Modern formats use WebCodecs on your device; AVI, GIF and older files fall back to FFmpeg WASM, also locally.

Videos are large files. Modern formats can use browser hardware acceleration; AVI, GIF and older files use FFmpeg via WebAssembly and tend to take longer depending on your hardware.
Do I need to install any software?
